Facilities
Situated right on the main A390, the Old Rectory enables you to take many different routes for your day out. There are two lovely pubs nearby and some beautiful walks.
The site consists of eleven tree-lined touring bays, eight of which have electric hook up facility. We have four new timber camping pods, these have internal electric lights and a small oil filled heater. There is room for approximately twenty tents in the camping area.
The recently extended shower block now boasts 5 showers in total and
full disabled facilities. Free hot water. There
are also grey waste disposal laundry facilities (chargeable) and a washing
up area. Chemical disposal point, free use of freezer for ice blocks.
We also hold a small stock of camping gas canisters, spare tent pegs
etc.
A welcome pack consisting of bacon or sausages from our own traditional
rare breed pigs, our own free range eggs, milk, butter, a loaf of bread
and a local newspaper can be pre-booked for your convenience (see tariff
page for costs). The bacon and sausages prove extremely popular and are
available throughout your stay, or to take home with you.
This rural part of the countryside has an abundance of wildlife, with plenty of rabbits to see, possibly badgers and foxes, and if you are really lucky maybe some deer.
We have now developed a bit of a smallholding with minature Shetland
Ponies, free range chickens, traditional rare breed pigs and Dexter
cattle.
